Good to know at Wyndham

Wyndham takes cards on every major network, so the question is value, not acceptance. There is a new leader: the Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier Card, relaunched in June 2026 at $395 a year, earns 8x at participating Hotels by Wyndham, which our valuation puts near 5.6 percent back. That moves it ahead of its $95 sibling, the Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus Card at 6x (roughly 4.2 percent), which led this ranking until the relaunch — and both sit well clear of the free 3 percent tier held by the Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi and the Wells Fargo Autograph Card.

The ranking is the same whether you book online or pay at the front desk, but the fine print matters more than it used to. The 8x applies at participating Wyndham properties only — non-participating brands like Echo Suites Extended Stay drop to 1x — and the Premier's 90,000-point welcome bonus carries an unusual condition: on top of $6,000 in spending, you must pay the $395 annual fee in full within the same 120 days or the bonus is forfeit. And as always, don't compare hotel cards by multiplier alone: the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card advertises 5x that works out to roughly 2.5 percent back at our point valuations.

The Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus Card stays the sane, no-drama pick. Its $95 fee buys 6x at Wyndham, Diamond status for the first year, and a 100,000-point welcome bonus that is actually larger than the Premier's while requiring just $1,500 of total spending. The $300 step up to the Premier buys 2 extra points per dollar — about 1.4 percent — so on rate alone you'd need north of $20,000 a year at Wyndham before it pays for itself; ongoing Diamond status is the real reason to stretch. If neither co-brand appeals, the no-annual-fee 3 percent tier remains close enough for occasional stays.

The math

Spend $250 a month at Wyndham and Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier Card returns about $168 a year at our valuations — a flat 2% card returns $60.

Common questions

What is the best credit card at Wyndham?
Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier Card earns the most at Wyndham right now at 8x.
How does SwipeCaddy pick the best card at Wyndham?
We rank each card by its reward rate times a conservative cash value of its points or miles — no inflated transfer valuations — and apply Wyndham's card-acceptance rules, so the "best" card is one you can actually use at the register.
Is the Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier Card worth its $395 annual fee?
Only for regulars. Its 8x at Wyndham is about 5.6 percent back at our valuations versus roughly 4.2 percent from the $95 Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus Card — a gap of about 1.4 percent, which means the extra $300 of fee needs north of $20,000 a year in Wyndham stays to pay for itself on rate alone. The stronger arguments are ongoing Diamond status and 4x on dining, groceries, gas and travel; if those don't move you, the Earner Plus keeps most of the value at a quarter of the fee.
Do I need a hotel credit card to earn well at Wyndham?
No. The no-annual-fee Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi and Wells Fargo Autograph Card both land in the 3 percent tier behind the co-brands, and at our valuations they beat the fee-carrying IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card here. A general card keeps you competitive without adding another fee to your wallet; the co-brands only pull ahead once Wyndham nights are a regular line in your budget.
