Our story

SwipeCaddy didn't start in 2026. It started nine years ago, with a wallet full of cards and a small app called CCPicks.

March 2017: an app called CCPicks

Years before SwipeCaddy, Jangul Aslam — today the founder of Const Agility, the company behind SwipeCaddy — shipped a little app to the App Store and Google Play (March 2017) with one promise on its screen: pick the best rewards credit card to shop. You tapped a category — groceries, gas, restaurants — or let the map find the merchant you were standing in, and it ranked your own cards by what they'd earn there. Its pitch was simple: when savings accounts barely paid 1% a year, the 5% already sitting in your wallet was too good to leave on the table.

A labor of love

CCPicks knew 22 cards. Its quarterly 5% calendars were typed in by hand. A couple hundred people ever downloaded it, it never earned a dollar, and that was fine — it existed for the small, satisfying moment at the register when the answer was simply there.

The thing that killed it

Rewards data rots. Categories flip every quarter, cards retire, rates quietly change — and every update meant retyping the data by hand. The last post on the CCPicks page, October 2018, reads: “Updated new cash back data for the 4th quarter.” Then life won. An app whose whole promise was being right slowly became wrong, and an app that misleads is worse than no app at all. So it came down.

Rebuilt around the lesson

SwipeCaddy is CCPicks reborn — the same three ideas at its heart (your cards, spending categories, real merchants), rebuilt around the one lesson that mattered: the answer is only as good as the data behind it. Today every rate carries a verified date, the catalog is re-checked against issuers' own pages every week, and anything we can't confirm is flagged instead of shown as fact.

What hasn't changed

No affiliate links, no bank logins, no ranking by commission — we recommend the card that earns you the most, full stop. That was true when one person typed 22 cards into a phone app in 2017, and it's true now. SwipeCaddy is a product of Const Agility, LLC, based in Texas, USA. Questions or ideas? A small relic survives from those days — the original CCPicks Facebook page, frozen since 2018: facebook.com/ccpicks
