Frequently asked questions
The short version: the right card, handed to you — no bank linking, no affiliate spin.
- What is SwipeCaddy?
- SwipeCaddy tells you which credit card already in your wallet to pay with at a given store or category, so you earn the most rewards. It is not a sign-up or affiliate recommender — it works with the cards you already hold.
- Do you connect to my bank or see my transactions?
- No. SwipeCaddy never links to your bank and never sees your transactions or card numbers. You tell it which cards you carry; everything else is a lookup against public rewards data. Your wallet stays on your device.
- How does SwipeCaddy decide which card is best?
- For each store or category, we rank your cards by reward rate times a conservative cash value of the points or miles they earn — then surface the fine print (activation, caps, portal-only rates, network acceptance) so the best answer is one you can actually get.
- Why do you use conservative point values instead of the big transfer valuations?
- Aspirational transfer valuations make points cards look better than a plain cash-back card almost everywhere, which is misleading for most people. We rank on a conservative cash-equivalent and show transfer upside separately, so a 6% cash card isn't unfairly beaten by a 4x points card you may never transfer.
- Do you earn a commission when I use a card?
- No. SwipeCaddy takes no affiliate commissions and has no incentive to steer you to any particular card. We only tell you which of your own cards to reach for.
- How many cards are covered?
- SwipeCaddy currently covers the most popular U.S. personal and business rewards cards, and the list keeps growing.
- When is the app coming out?
- The app is on the way. In the meantime, join the waitlist on the homepage and browse the card and category guides here to see what SwipeCaddy knows.
