It earns 6x points at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels, and up to roughly 17x total once Bonvoy member and automatic Silver Elite bonuses stack. Add 3x on dining, groceries, and gas, with 2x everywhere else. It runs on Visa, charges no foreign transaction fees, and carries a $95 annual fee.
The fine print matters. SwipeCaddy values a Bonvoy point at 0.7 cents for its rankings, so 3x works out near 2.1% back and the 2x base is closer to 1.4%. The dining, groceries, and gas categories also share one combined cap, with a lower rate after you hit it. The realistic case for the $95 fee is the annual Free Night Award, good for a stay costing up to 35,000 points, plus automatic Silver Elite status.
In a small wallet, treat the Boundless as your hotel card, not your everyday card. Outside Marriott stays, the capped 3x categories only narrowly beat a flat 2% cash-back card, and the 2x base trails one. Put Marriott bookings and perhaps dining on the Boundless, keep a flat-rate card as the floor for everything else, and let the free night carry the fee.
