Our take
The Savor fits people whose spending clusters around food and fun rather than travel. It earns 3% on dining, groceries, streaming, and entertainment, four categories that cover most of a typical week's non-bill spending. On SwipeCaddy's engine rankings it holds the strongest entertainment rate that carries no cap, no activation, and no wallet tricks — everything ranked above it is a rotating quarter or a capped mobile-wallet play — so if concert tickets and subscriptions are a real line in your budget, this card earns its slot.
The tradeoff is what happens outside those four categories: everything else earns a flat 1%, which is a weak floor for big non-category expenses. The upside of the structure is its simplicity. There is no annual fee to earn back, rewards come as plain cash back where every percent is worth exactly that, and none of the 3% categories carry caps or activation hoops in SwipeCaddy's data.
In a two-card wallet, the Savor plays the specialist. Hand it every restaurant, grocery, streaming, and entertainment charge, and route the rest of your spending to a flat-rate card that beats its 1% base. Because there is no annual fee, the pairing costs nothing to maintain, and the Savor only has to win its four categories to justify staying.
The math
Run $250 a month of hotels through this card and you're earning about $150 a year at our conservative valuations. There's no annual fee to earn back — everything above the 1% base rate is pure upside.
Where it lands in our rankings: #4 for entertainment

Common questions
- Does Capital One Savor Cash Rewards (formerly SavorOne) have an annual fee?
- No — Capital One Savor Cash Rewards (formerly SavorOne) has no annual fee.
- What does Capital One Savor Cash Rewards (formerly SavorOne) earn on hotels?
- 5% on hotels (book via capital one travel).
- What rewards does Capital One Savor Cash Rewards (formerly SavorOne) earn on everything else?
- 1% on all other purchases, in Cash Back.
- Is the Capital One Savor the same card as the SavorOne?
- Yes. What SwipeCaddy lists as the Capital One Savor Cash Rewards is the former SavorOne, so if that name is on your card you already hold this product. Nothing about how the engine ranks it changes with the name: it runs on Mastercard and earns the same category rates shown on this page.
- Does the Capital One Savor have a signup bonus?
- Yes — our data records a $200 cash bonus after $500 in purchases within the first 3 months. It is small enough to treat as a nudge rather than the point: the card's case still rests on the ongoing rates, like 3% at restaurants and grocery stores. Estimate what you spend in those categories in a normal month and let the math on this page do the rest.
