The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card is built for a business whose travel keeps landing at Hyatt. Qualifying purchases at Hyatt hotels and resorts, and World of Hyatt Experiences, earn 4 Bonus Points per $1 — about 5.6% back at the 1.4-cent point valuation SwipeCaddy uses, the highest hotel currency in our file. Fitness club and gym memberships earn 2 Bonus Points per $1 automatically, and everything else starts at 1x.

The headline 9x at Hyatt is a marketing composite: 4x is card earn and up to 5 Base Points per $1 come from World of Hyatt member earning on the same stay, which you would collect regardless of how you paid. The other headline needs the same care. The 2x on your top three categories each quarter is not something you choose — Chase totals your spending across eight eligible categories at the end of each calendar quarter and adds the second point retroactively, taking up to eight weeks to post. Because that is unknowable in advance, SwipeCaddy ranks those eight categories at the 1x base rate and flags the upside instead of promising a rate the card may not pay.

The $199 annual fee has to be earned back through Hyatt stays and the welcome offer; SwipeCaddy does not model this card's benefit block, so check the issuer's page before assuming what is or is not included of 70,000 Bonus Points after $7,000 in purchases in the first three months. In a small business wallet, use it for Hyatt and gym memberships and route general spending to a flat-rate business card. Two caveats worth knowing: car rental agencies are on the quarterly list but we do not track them, because our travel-other category also covers cruises, vacation rentals and tours that do not qualify; and Chase can revise the eligible-category list each year, publishing it at chase.com/hyattbuscard2X. You never pick it. Chase adds up your spending in eight eligible categories — dining, shipping, airline tickets bought directly with the airline, local transit and commuting, social media and search engine advertising, car rental agencies, gas stations, and internet, cable and phone services — and pays a second Bonus Point per dollar in the three you spent most in that calendar quarter, posting it up to eight weeks later. Is the advertised 9x at Hyatt really 9x?

Only 4x of it comes from the card. The rest is up to 5 Base Points per dollar you earn as a World of Hyatt member on a qualifying stay, which you would get no matter how you paid.
