U.S. Bank closed the Shopper Cash Rewards card to new applicants on June 22, 2026, and did not move existing cardholders to another product. If you hold it, it keeps working exactly as before, which is why it still ranks inside your SwipeCaddy wallet even though it no longer appears in our public best-card rankings.

The structure was unusually literal about choice: pick two retailers for 6% back, pick one everyday category for 3%, and everything else earns 1.5%. Both bonus buckets carry their own $1,500 quarterly cap, and spending past a cap falls to 1.5%. At full use that is $90 a quarter from the retailer pair and $45 from the category — real money against a $95 annual fee, but only if your two picks match where you actually shop.

One honesty note about our data. U.S. Bank's retailer list ran to about two dozen names, and the product page came down with the card, so we rank only the six retailers we could still confirm: Amazon, Target, Walmart, The Home Depot, Best Buy and Apple. At any other store this card is shown at its 1.5% base, which means SwipeCaddy may understate it for you — we would rather under-promise than invent a rate we cannot verify.
