Our take

The Prime Business Card is built for businesses that already run their spending through Amazon. It pays 5% back at Amazon, Whole Foods Market, and Amazon Web Services for eligible Prime members, plus 5% on flights, hotels, and other travel booked through the U.S. Bank Travel Center. There is no annual fee, and rewards come as plain cash back, so there is no points valuation to second-guess.

The fine print does real work here. The 5% tier at Amazon, Whole Foods Market, and AWS requires an eligible Amazon Prime membership; without it, those purchases earn 3%. The rate also applies only to the first $150,000 per year combined across all three, then drops to 1%. Travel earns 5% only when booked through the U.S. Bank Travel Center, and everything else falls back to a 1% base rate with no signup bonus.

This is the successor to the Amazon Business American Express card, reissued by U.S. Bank on the Mastercard network, and existing Amex Business Prime accounts migrate over. In a small wallet, treat it as the Amazon specialist: it also earns 2% on your top three automatically selected categories, but with a 1% floor everywhere else, a flat 2% card is a better home for general business spending.
