Our take
The Robinhood Platinum Card is a $695-a-year Visa Infinite from Coastal Community Bank, available only by waitlist or invite, and it earns Robinhood Points: 5x on dining up to $50,000 per calendar year (then 1x), 5x on flights, 10x on hotels and 10x on rental cars booked through the Robinhood Travel Portal, and 1x on everything else. A complimentary Robinhood Gold membership is included, and there is no foreign transaction fee.
The condition to understand is redemption, and here it decides everything. A Robinhood Point is worth a full 1.0 cent only when redeemed into a Robinhood brokerage account; taken as a statement credit it is worth less, and SwipeCaddy ranks the card at a conservative 0.7 cents. At that value the 5x dining is roughly 3.5% back — below what an Amex Gold's 4x delivers on the same restaurant bill — and the flashy 10x on hotels works out to about 7%, available only inside Robinhood's own travel portal. Redeem to brokerage at the full cent and the math recovers to 5% on dining and 10% on portal hotels; redeem any other way and a $695 card is earning like a mid-tier one.
What the $695 does not buy is the usual apology kit: no travel credits, no lounge story beyond the generic Visa Infinite badge, and no signup bonus advertised. The complimentary Robinhood Gold membership is the main offset, and it only counts if you were going to pay for Gold anyway. One house rule applies to points that end up invested: SwipeCaddy values rewards at their cash amount at the moment of earning — the app never forecasts what an asset does afterwards. Whatever your deposited points grow or shrink into, that volatility is your ride, up or down, not part of the card's rate.
In a wallet, this is a dining-and-portal specialist standing behind a stack of caveats: the numbers pencil out for a heavy diner who sweeps points into the brokerage without fail, and for hotels or rental cars booked through Robinhood's portal when you would have used the portal anyway. For everyone else it is $695 for a 1x card with a nice finish; outside those two lanes, keep the fee and let cheaper cards do the work.
The math
Run $250 a month of hotels through this card and you're earning about $210 a year at our conservative valuations. Against the $695 annual fee, that top rate needs roughly $1,175 a month of hotels spend before it beats a no-fee flat 2% card.
Where it lands in our rankings: #5 for dining · #5 for hotels · #5 for other travel

Common questions
- Does Robinhood Platinum Card have an annual fee?
- Yes — $695 per year.
- What does Robinhood Platinum Card earn on hotels?
- 10x on hotels (book via robinhood travel portal).
- What rewards does Robinhood Platinum Card earn on everything else?
- 1x on all other purchases, in Robinhood Points.
- What is a Robinhood Point worth?
- A full 1.0 cent when redeemed into a Robinhood brokerage account, and less as a statement credit. SwipeCaddy ranks the card at a conservative 0.7 cents per point, which turns the 5x dining into roughly 3.5% back and the 10x portal hotels into about 7%. If you reliably redeem to brokerage, read those as 5% and 10%; if you do not, the lower figures are the honest ones.
- Is the $695 annual fee worth it?
- Only in a narrow case: you spend heavily on dining (5x applies to the first $50,000 per calendar year, then drops to 1x), you book flights, hotels or rental cars through the Robinhood Travel Portal, and you redeem to brokerage at the full cent. The fee buys no travel credits and no signup bonus is advertised; the complimentary Robinhood Gold membership is the main offset. Outside that profile, the fee outruns the rewards.
- If I invest my points, does the card's value change?
- No. SwipeCaddy values rewards at their cash amount at the moment they are earned — the app never forecasts what an asset does afterwards. Points deposited into your brokerage may rise or fall once invested, but that volatility is your ride, up or down; it is investment performance, not part of the card's earning rate.
