PNC Cash Unlimited Visa Signature Credit Card
Pnc · Visa · No annual fee · Earns Cash Back
A flat, uncapped 2% on everything with no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee — the plain sibling of PNC's tiered Cash Rewards card, and the better one unless your gas and dining spend fits inside that card's $8,000 cap.

Our take
The PNC Cash Unlimited Visa Signature is the plain one: 2% back on every purchase, no categories to memorize, no quarterly activation, no cap, no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee. Two percent is the standard a good flat-rate card is expected to meet rather than a number that beats the market, so the case for this card is not that the rate is high — it is that nothing is subtracted from it.
The comparison that actually matters is with its own sibling. The PNC Cash Rewards Visa pays 4% on gas, 3% on dining and 2% on groceries, but those tiers share one $8,000 annual cap and everything else earns 1%. Take a household that runs $3,000 of gas, $2,000 of dining and $3,000 of groceries through a card in a year — exactly the cap. The tiered card pays $240 on that spending; this one pays $160. Now put another $10,000 of ordinary purchases on the same card: the tiered version pays 1%, or $100, while the flat 2% pays $200. The $80 head start is gone, with $20 to spare.
So the tiered sibling only wins inside a narrow band — enough gas and dining to matter, and few enough other purchases that the 1% base rate never has time to work against you. Outside that band the flat 2% is both simpler and larger. Carry the Cash Unlimited as the card that catches everything your specialists do not: a dedicated grocery, dining or 5% gas card will beat it inside its own category, and 2% does not top any of our rankings. It is also the sibling to pack, since the Cash Rewards charges 3% on foreign transactions and this one charges nothing.

Common questions
- Does PNC Cash Unlimited Visa Signature Credit Card have an annual fee?
- No — PNC Cash Unlimited Visa Signature Credit Card has no annual fee.
- What rewards does PNC Cash Unlimited Visa Signature Credit Card earn on everything else?
- 2% on all other purchases, in Cash Back.
- Is the PNC Cash Unlimited better than the PNC Cash Rewards?
- For most people, yes. The Cash Rewards pays higher rates on gas, dining and groceries, but only up to a shared $8,000 annual cap and only 1% on everything else. At exactly $8,000 of bonus spending the tiered card is about $80 ahead; add $10,000 of ordinary purchases and the flat 2% earns $200 against the tiered card's $100, erasing that lead. The tiered card wins only if your bonus categories make up most of your total spending.
- Does the 2% on the PNC Cash Unlimited have a cap?
- No. The 2% is uncapped and applies to every purchase, with no categories to activate and no anniversary or calendar reset to track. There is no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee either, so the rate you see is the rate you get at home and abroad. The trade-off is that 2% is a floor, not a peak: any card with a real bonus category will pay more than 2% inside it.
