Our take

The Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature earns 2 Points per dollar on everything, with no categories to track, no caps, no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee. Elan Financial Services issues it; Fidelity is the brand on the front and, more importantly, the destination for the rewards. It is one of the few flat-rate cards that is genuinely usable abroad, because the absent foreign transaction fee leaves the full 2% intact overseas.

The condition to understand is redemption. Those 2 Points are worth 2% only when you redeem them as a cash deposit into an eligible Fidelity account — a brokerage, Cash Management, IRA or 529. Redeem for travel, merchandise, gift cards or a statement credit instead and the value is different, which is a polite way of saying lower. So the headline rate is real, but it is contingent on you already banking or investing with Fidelity and being willing to send the money there.

That makes the card an easy call for existing Fidelity customers and a much narrower one for everyone else. If you have an eligible account and set redemptions to deposit automatically, it behaves like an unlimited 2% card that also travels well. If you do not, you are choosing a 2% card whose 2% arrives only in a place you have no use for, and a plain cash-back card with the same rate and no strings is the simpler instrument.

In a wallet, it plays the floor: put bonus-category cards on top for groceries, dining or gas, and let the Fidelity card take the long tail of purchases nothing else rewards. With no annual fee, holding it as that floor costs nothing, and the missing foreign transaction fee means it can double as the card you take out of the country.

Common questions

Does Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature Card have an annual fee?
No — Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature Card has no annual fee.
What rewards does Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature Card earn on everything else?
2% on all other purchases, in Cash Back.
Do I need a Fidelity account to get 2% back?
Effectively, yes. The card earns 2 Points per dollar regardless, but those Points are worth the full 2% only when redeemed as a cash deposit into an eligible Fidelity account such as a brokerage, Cash Management, IRA or 529. Other redemptions — travel, merchandise, gift cards, statement credit — carry a different and lower value, so without an eligible account the effective rate falls below the advertised one.
Is the Fidelity Rewards Visa good for spending abroad?
Yes, and it is one of its strongest points. The card charges no foreign transaction fee, so the full 2% survives on purchases made outside the United States. That sets it apart from several flat-rate cash-back cards that charge around 3% abroad, where the fee more than cancels out what you earn.
Is there a signup bonus?
Fidelity does not advertise a welcome bonus for this card on its product page, so treat it as a card whose value is the ongoing flat rate rather than a large first-year payout. The page does mention up to 100 dollars in Reward Points as a statement credit toward Global Entry or TSA PreCheck when you apply for either through the card.
